Experiential Therapy
In this office you’ll benefit from a type of therapy that involves clients actively participating in their experiences instead of just talking about them. It uses hands-on tools, activities, and techniques to help you process difficult emotions and navigate challenging situations.
The goal is to help you embody what you need to work through, rather than discussing it from an analytical perspective. Experiential therapy can help you understand different perspectives, creatively express yourself and improve your overall well-being.
FAQs
frequently asked questions
Why is life so hard?
Everyone faces challenges, and seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Lets address the issues that are making life difficult so that you can enjoy a more fulfilling journey.
“Stuck” is a mindset. Everyone can change if they want to put in the work. Change is possible with commitment and effort.
What are the benefits of mental health therapy?
Therapy offers numerous benefits, including:
- High Success Rate: Therapy has positive effects for a large majority of people.
- Better Long-Term Results: The longer you “do the work” in therapy, the more significant the benefits.
- Active Participation: Clients who actively participate by being open, asking questions, and following up tend to experience better outcomes.
- Medication and Therapy: For some psychological conditions, therapy alone can be as effective as therapy combined with medication. I can provide referrals to amazing providers in the Gillette area.
- Commitment Matters: Staying in therapy until you have peace about your concerns generally leads to better results than just agreeing to a set number of appointments.
Why is it important to attend therapy regularly?
Regular attendance in therapy, much like regular exercise, enhances its effectiveness. Sporadic gym visits give you limited fitness results – and really just have you leaving sore and tired. Infrequent therapy sessions also give you limited lifestyle changes. Consistent therapy helps keep your attention on goals and allows for meaningful, lasting changes.
How will I know if you are the right therapist for me?
To decide if I am the right therapist for you, consider scheduling a free initial phone consultation. During the call, reflect on the following:
- How comfortable do I feel talking to her?
- Does she seem trustworthy and attentive?
- Is she actively listening to me?
- Does she appear knowledgeable and confident in her approach?
- Can I envision sharing my deepest concerns with her?
- Does she seem capable of handling my issues?
- Most importantly, do I like her?
These questions can help both of us gauge if we’re a good fit for your therapeutic journey.
I’m very private. Are my issues kept private?
Confidentiality is a cornerstone of counseling. Your privacy is protected by law – with certain exceptions related to child or elder abuse, threats of harm to others, or self-harm. If you use insurance for therapy, I will need to provide required information, including a diagnosis.
How can I pay? Do you accept insurance?
I am in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, UMR, and United. I also offer out-of-network superbills, and you may be able to submit each session to your insurance provider for reimbursement. I do offer incentives for those that pay with cash at the time of their sessions.
Payments can also be made using your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA). If you have any billing questions, please reach out, and I will help you navigate the process.
Where are you located?
My office is tucked away in the heart of Gillette, Wyoming. Find me downtown on Gillette Avenue, behind Home of the Hot Mess Cookie.

My Commitment to you
Meaningful change is collaborative. While I am here to guide and support you, your active participation is crucial. Counseling is most effective when you are committed to the process and willing to participate fully.
So let’s make a deal… you and I both go all in, knowing that committed effort will empower you to live authentically.
